  • Current Certificate of Competence in the Province of Ontario from College of Nurses.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation required.
  • Current or within two years Maternal Child experience required (NICU, Pediatrics or postpartum). Preference will be given to candidates with current NICU or Pediatric experience.
  • Perinatal Nursing Certificate required. Consideration will be given to candidates who can provide proof ofregistration in an accredited Perinatal Program.
  • Breastfeeding Certificate required.
  • Demonstrated interest and knowledge in family centred maternity care.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills.
  • Demonstrated clinical assessment and family/patient teaching skills.
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge in I.V. Therapy
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance, punctuality and availability.
  • Experience supporting families with breastfeeding.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and patient safety, considers safety of self and co-workers
