The Business Analyst role supports high-impact initiatives related to transportation safety by providing expert-level business analysis services across all stages of the project lifecycle. Working closely with project teams and solution vendors, the analyst leads feasibility studies, requirement elicitation, business modeling, and documentation of both functional and non-functional specifications. This role demands deep knowledge of SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies, with a focus on iterative development, sprint planning, and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities include conducting Joint Application Design sessions, reviewing technical designs, supporting testing phases, and producing key deliverables like business cases, system requirements, data models, and user stories.Advantages

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility analysis, project scoping, and provide detailed work estimates.
• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements, data flows, and system specifications.
• Lead or participate in Joint Requirements Planning and Joint Application Design sessions.
• Create business process models, user stories, test plans, risk assessments, and UI specifications.
• Provide continuous support during design, development, and testing phases.
• Facilitate walkthroughs, review technical documents, manage risks, and coordinate interdependencies.
• Support development and QA teams by reviewing test plans, resolving issues, and handling end-user inquiries.
• Ensure documentation is up to date and compliant with enterprise architecture and project governance requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in SDLC and structured methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and iterative approaches.
• Proven experience in legacy systems analysis, Oracle Siebel implementations, and mid-tier environments.
• Skilled in Business Object-Oriented Modeling, UML, prototyping tools, Power BI, Azure DevOps, JIRA, and PowerDesigner.
• Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, user-centric design, and AODA compliance.
• Experience with functional and non-functional documentation, data modeling, and traceability matrices.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to prioritize and deliver business goals through digital transformation initiatives.
