Senior Accountant
Location: Stoney Creek, ON

Join a dynamic and growing team as a Senior Accountant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations across the Southwestern Ontario region and National Service functions. What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll be at the heart of financial operations, supporting the Regional Controller in executing accounting and financial strategies in line with corporate policies. You will have a direct impact on the financial health of the Southwest Ontario region, joint ventures, and National Service functions.
Regional Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management: Complete journal entries, month end, and year end activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports for operations, including weekly Service Division Manager reports and safety training statistics.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with updating and monitoring annual and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
Tax & Compliance: Oversee tax and government remittances, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Account Reconciliation: Ensure monthly account and bank reconciliations are completed on time, maintaining financial accuracy.
Cost Control: Monitor expenses and overheads, providing insight into cost control initiatives and variances.
Fleet & Receivables: Collaborate with the Regional Controller on fleet management and accounts receivables.
Payroll Oversight: Review hourly payroll processed by the Payroll Administrator and manage salary payroll for the region.
Banking & EFT Processing: Responsible for processing EFTs and managing banking files to ensure smooth operations.
Ad-Hoc Support: Provide timely support for any financial or operational requests from management and assist in ad hoc financial analyses.
Mentorship: Guide and mentor administrative staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
National Service Operations:
Reporting: Generate National Service & National Account reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Best Practice Standardization: Assist in standardizing month-end procedures and implementing best practices across National Service operations.
Training Support: Help develop and deliver national administrative training programs in collaboration with the National Service Controller.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a talented, detail-oriented professional with strong technical and analytical skills to join our team. In addition to your technical expertise, we value individuals who are driven to learn, innovate, and make meaningful contributions to a growing organization.
Key Qualifications:
Accounting Designation: A CPA designation is required.
Educational Background: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of full-cycle accounting.
Software Expertise: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards is an asset), PowerBI proficiency is also an asset)
Industry Experience: Public accounting experience is an asset preferably at a mid sized firm.
