Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Senior Application Specialist for a 1 year contract. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in a similar role and a strong interest in DevOps, CI/CD, and software automation. You will play a critical part in supporting, deploying, and optimizing IBM Rational Test Virtualization (RTV) and related toolchains to ensure the seamless delivery of quality software across environments.Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, install, configure, and troubleshoot the Rational Test Virtualization (RTV) application.
  • Deploy code and manage secure environments supporting RTV infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Developers and QA teams to diagnose, recreate, and resolve complex system and application issues.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (Kanban/Scrum), contributing to estimation, planning, and delivery.
  • Engage in a rotating on-call schedule and be available for off-hours/weekend support when required.
  • Champion DevOps best practices and culture to improve software quality and deployment velocity.
  • Support and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows server environments.
  • Continuously learn and adopt emerging technologies relevant to the role.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar application support or DevOps role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience supporting and managing Linux (RHEL) and Windows operating systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Bash, PowerShell, Python, PHP, Java, or Groovy.
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as GitLab or similar platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Rational Test Virtualization or similar service virtualization tools.
  • Basic understanding of cloud service providers: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and general software automation principles.
  • Experience with logging and monitoring solutions such as ELK Stack, Splunk, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
  • Proficiency in GIT or other version control systems.
  • Understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies.
