We are seeking a dynamic, experienced lawyer to join our TLRA Real Estate, Environment & Sustainability team as Senior Counsel. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, you will serve as TLRA prime for TELUS’ wireless/wireline network infrastructure build and operations across Canada, retail leasing portfolios across Canada and Québec-based corporate real estate leasing, acquisition, disposition and development portfolios. You will be an integral part of a tight-knit, supportive team, with flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Canada, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders including landlords, competitors, partners and governmental and regulatory bodies on a broad range of corporate/commercial matters related to TELUS fibre and wireless networks.

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

  • 7+ years of relevant post-call experience in private practice and/or in-house
  • Member in good standing with a Canadian law Society
  • Proficient fluency in English and French (verbal and written)
  • Experience in commercial real estate, network infrastructure, transactional work and/or managing external counsel across different jurisdictions
  • Knowledge of civil law and common law, membership in the Quebec Bar and prior experience with telecommunications industry considered assets
  • Successful track record of independently managing a high volume of competing priorities, collaborating across teams and delivering on commitments in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to tell the story to technical and non-technical audience at all levels
  • Proven ability to connect with, relate to and build trust with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives
