Our client is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for a 6-month contract opportunity.In this role, you will be a key member of our Shared Services Team. You will perform the monthly financial close and prepare statements for various users. You will sharpen your analytical skills by performing variance and trend analysis, “what-if” scenarios and financial statement commentary. You will demonstrate an understanding of the business by always looking to improve processes, find efficiencies, and provide feedback that will drive our business to the next level, all while providing world class support to our Branch Services. Assist with full-cycle accounting tasks including:
- Perform the monthly & yearly financial close for 2 entities and prepare financial statements (quarterly) for various users
- On a daily basis the tasks will include, but are not limited to full cycle accounting, recording journal entries, producing financial statements, variance analytics, inventory, fixed assets, providing support to various stores and branches
- Sharpen your analytical skills by performing variance and trend analysis, “what-if” scenarios and financial statement commentary
- Demonstrate an understanding of the business by always looking to improve processes, find efficiencies, and provide feedback that will drive business to the next level, all while providing world class support to the Branch Services
- Be the “go-to” person for store branches or district managers for answers to their questions regarding inventory count shortages, profitability reports, analysis, profitability across products, etc.
- Develop and document business processes and policies to maintain and/or strengthen internal controls
- Work with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance
- Assist branch managers with their ERP questions & analytics
Authority:
- Identify errors and work with branches on corrective procedures
- Suggest ways to improve controls & efficiency
- Review & report on inventory shrinkage and deposit errors
- Represent the company when dealing with third parties
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Performance Measure:
- Prepare required reconciliations and reports according to schedule
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
ABOUT YOU
- CPA designation or on the tail end of the process
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Solid understanding of IFRS accounting principles
- Detail oriented, organized, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Highly effective written and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to maintain a positive, collaborative environment.
- Takes initiative and is results-driven
- Proven prioritization, time management and project management skills
- Demonstrates aptitude in dealing with private and confidential information.
- Uses diplomacy and tact in all interactions
