Aston Carter’s large client is seeking a Highly Experienced Financial Analyst to join their team! This individual will perform financial analysis in support of the company’s strategic financial planning and reporting services, participate in consolidation and operating budgets, along with all other aspects of financial management, involving KPI’s, forecasting, modeling, costing and other analysis. The Financial Analyst will also provide financial advisory services across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in development of the consolidated operating budget, providing information and advice to business leaders on budget strategy, standards, policies and processes.

  • Conducts forecasting, modeling, costing and analysis to support strategic financial planning and decision-making.

  • Develops regular and ad hoc draft financial reporting, including quarterly/annual internal reporting, financial reporting, and other ad hoc reports.

  • Provides financial advisory services to business leaders, involving interpretation of financial data to provide meaningful information and consultation as required.

  • Provides support financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

  • Supports the Manager in identifying risks and opportunities related to areas of accountability. Ensures Manager is alerted to critical issues as they emerge.

  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of own work, while also ensuring alignment with standards, policies and processes; and compliance with regulatory and other related requirements.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with representatives to discuss and resolve financial analysis and reporting issues; and to provide input to various committees and task forces.

  • Participates in the implementation of enhanced and streamlined financial processes, collaborating with business technology services on the development, implementation and ongoing management of new/enhanced systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • CPA designated

  • 5+ years’ Canadian experience in Accounting or FP&A (at least 3 years FP&A)

  • Advanced Excel Proficiency (Modeling experience)

Nice to Have:

  • System implementation experience

  • Costing experience

  • Macro (MS Excel) programming experience

The pay range for this position is $48.71 – $52.82/hr.
