We are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer for a 12-month contract position in Calgary, Alberta, with possible extensions. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.This is a 100% remote role.Job Description
The Senior Integration Engineer will bring their expertise in Ellucian Banner to support and enhance enterprise systems, ensuring efficient integration of technologies across departments. You will play a critical role in maintaining the organization’s operational efficiency, modernizing it’s technology stack and improving overall user experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, significant experience in integration development and the ability to design and implement complex solutions.Position Responsibilities

• Lead meetings with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements for use throughout the software development lifecycle
• Identify appropriate technologies and propose cost-effective solutions that align with the organization’s product and architectural goals
• Provide guidance and coordination with resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Prepare clear technical documentation that describes project requirements and specifications
• Collaborate with a dynamic team to design, build and test processes based on detailed specifications
• Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for integration projects and proposals
• Analyze and deconstruct complex technical issues to identify root causes and troubleshoot application and integration challenges effectives
• Stay current with the organization’s applications and technologies
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies to improve practices and processes

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with Ellucian Banner or a similar ERP system is required
• At least 6-8+ years of experience with application development frameworks (e.g., NodeJS, React.js).
• At least 6-8+ years of experience with web service development and integration patterns, including REST, SOAP, JMS messaging, and Request/Reply or Publish/Subscriber models
• At least 5+ years of experience in complex integration architecture and design, with working knowledge of at least one ESB platform (e.g., MuleSoft, Oracle SOA/OSB, IBM WebSphere ESB, Microsoft BizTalk)
• Strong understanding of SOA architecture and hands-on experience with API web service development (REST and SOAP)
• Proficiency with XML-related technologies (XML, XSD)
• Knowledge and experience with HTTP, REST, SOAP, JSON, and databases (SQL)
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., GIT, SVN)
• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools
• Experience with team collaboration platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps)
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and communicate effectively
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Lambda, CloudWatch, DocumentDB, ECS, and Terraform
