Lead and inspire audit teams in planning and executing comprehensive operational audits while delivering insightful reports to key stakeholders, including the CEO, CFO, and Audit and Risk Committee, to drive measurable improvements and ensure organizational success.What You Get To Do:

  • Maintain an operations focused audit universe which highlights the diverse operational risks facing each ATCO Business Unit.
  • Work directly with Senior Leaders within each Business Unit to develop the annual Operational Audit Plan.
  • Present the annual Operational Audit Plan for each Business Unit to key stakeholders.
  • Periodically reassess the annual Operational Audit Plan through the adoption of an agile audit approach that recognizes the fast pace of operational change both internally and externally.
  • Direct the planning and execution of operational audits including performing audits of large or complex business activities.
  • Manage a team of senior and intermediate-level audit staff with diverse professional backgrounds, such as engineering and operational management.
  • Review risk assessments, audit programs, and audit reports developed by team members ensuring the audits are completed in accordance with Institute of Internal Auditors’ standards and quality assurance requirements.
  • Establish performance expectations for team members and monitor performance relative to defined goals including completing annual performance reviews.
  • Ensure relevant development and training opportunities are available to team members.
  • Work closely with the Director, Internal Audit to prepare quarterly material for reporting to the Designated Audit Directors for each Business Unit and the Audit and Risk Committees.

Who You Are:

  • Undergraduate degree – preferably in Engineering, Operational Management, Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional designation – preferably Professional Engineer (P. Eng), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), MBA or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience with at least 5 years management experience – operational experience outside of Internal Audit would be considered an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal/leadership skills with the ability to develop relationships easily and effectively across a broad range of internal and external parties.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of business operations, project management, Health and Safety and construction including technical requirements, legislation, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to see the big picture and interpret and assess the short- and long-term impacts of actions and strategies.
  • Results oriented and deadline driven.
  • High level of personal integrity and standard of conduct.
