Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Manager, Permitting to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill the owner’s obligations regarding health, safety, and security.

  • Lead the Health, Safety, and Security team to deliver expert support and guidance across the program.

  • Establish and implement governance structures and processes for effective health, safety, and security management.

  • Collaborate with the corporate safety and security department to ensure alignment, escalation procedures, and comprehensive reporting.

  • Review and validate contractors’ Health, Safety, and Security Management Plans while implementing an assurance framework for the program.

  • Partner with Program Leads and other PMO functional leads to integrate health, safety, and security throughout the program.

  • Coordinate health, safety, and security reviews and assurance activities in collaboration with Program Leads, providing essential support for program execution.

  • Deliver management and executive-level reporting, offering expert insights on trends and corrective actions.

  • Advise on health, safety, and security policies and regulations that impact program delivery.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • University Degree + 8 years of relevant experience in an on-site safety and security leadership role.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 15 years of professional experience, including 10 years in an on-site safety and security leadership role.

  • 5 years of experience in large-scale airport projects or equivalent infrastructure programs exceeding CAD $500M.

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC), or an equivalent certification is considered an asset.

  • Extensive expertise in health and safety, security, incident investigation, and other relevant technical fields.

  • Proven ability to lead teams in delivering health, safety, and security requirements for complex projects and programs.

  • Strong technical proficiency across all project phases, including design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance, with a preference for large-scale programs/projects.

  • Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships and providing strategic-level reporting to support informed decision-making.

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings and workshops involving large groups.

Additional Information

This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $105,000.00 – $150,000.00.
