We have an exciting full-time one-year (12 month) contract opportunity to bring your expertise to March of Dimes Canada. As the Senior Manager, Total Compensation , you will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s goals through the development and management of compensation and benefits initiatives.
Responsibilities
Compensation Management :
-
Develop and maintain competitive salary structures, salary surveys, and market data analysis to ensure we offer attractive compensation packages.

Implement and maintain consistent approaches to job evaluation and salary banding, utilizing Job Family methodology.

Provide strategic guidance on complex compensation matters, including salary adjustments, promotions, and internal equity.
Job Family Methodology & Job Evaluation :
-
Support the implementation of the Job Family framework, organizing roles into families and levels to create clear career path structures.

Conduct job analysis and evaluations to ensure fairness and consistency in job grading.

Partner with department leaders to align job families with business objectives and talent strategies.

Train and support managers on the use of Job Family methodology for team development and career planning.
Data Analysis & Reporting :

Conduct in-depth data analysis to evaluate compensation program effectiveness, including turnover analysis and salary competitiveness.

Create reports and presentations for senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations on compensation trends.

Utilize data-driven insights to inform decisions related to compensation adjustments, benefits enhancements, and budget allocations.
Employee Communication & Training :

Collaborate with the Internal Communication team to develop strategies to educate employees on compensation, benefits, and career development opportunities.

Partner with HR Business Partners and Learning & Development teams to conduct training on compensation practices, benefits enrollment, and career progression.

Provide guidance to managers and employees on compensation-related decisions and career development.
Qualifications and experience
Education: University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), or similar certifications preferred.
Experience:

7-10 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits, with at least 3 years in a management role.

Extensive experience working with the Job Family methodology, including job evaluation, job analysis, and salary banding.

Proven track record in designing and managing compensation structures and bonus/incentive programs.
Skills:
-
Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with a keen ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex concepts in a clear, concise manner.
-
High proficiency with HR systems, compensation software, and advanced Excel skills.
-
In-depth knowledge of labor laws, compliance requirements, and best practices in compensation and benefits.
