You will manage all aspects of an assigned commodity, maximizing profitability through trading strategies, procurement, hedging, and arbitrage opportunities. This position develops business plans for the commodity which includes creating sales and procurement strategies, establishing prices, and managing associated risks. Bridging the gap to connect farmers and customers helps keep Viterra front and center on the global agriculture stage. From global commodity marketing to procurement strategies to contract management, your goal is the efficient and effective movement of agriculture commodities.What you’ll do

• Develop and manage the commodity’s business plan including volume handled, sales strategy, volume to market and transportation position management objectives.
• Responsible for the decisions of the commodity, with oversight from the Merchandising Manager or Director.
• Manage and maintain relationships with key contacts of end-user clients, including global marketing offices.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies including establishing of street and deferred delivery contract prices.
• Manage moderate to high-risk positions for assigned commodity and develops and executes on cash, futures, and spread trading strategies within approved limits.
• Conduct transactional negotiations focused on the commodity price and volume.
• Manage credit requirements, contract terms, contract entry and dispersal, transportation capacity and contract administration to ensure contract terms are adhered to and accounts remain current.
• Analyze and monitor commodity position and associated risks from origin to end-user.

• University degree in Agriculture, Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent post-secondary education
• Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in merchandising.
