What’s the job?The Senior Product Manager, Day-to-day Banking is an integral part of the demand deposits, payments and credit cards team and will support the strategic vision of payment methods and everyday banking for Coast Capital. This role operates across small business and retail verticals, ensuring specific goals, plans and initiatives for the Portfolio are executed/delivered to support Coast’s business strategies and objectives. It is also responsible for ensuring all activities follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.This position will be accountable for managing the retail & small business day-to-day account P&Ls (i.e. chequing, transaction banking, overdraft, etc.), leading/participating in new payment opportunities, and supporting payment services. In addition, the role will be accountable for everyday banking journeys/experience (including onboarding and acquisition journeys across all channels), portfolio growth strategy, pricing, new product development, forecasting, measurement, gap planning and regulatory compliance. The incumbent will also act as the SME on payments industry best practices, monitoring trends, regulations and emerging technologies in the payments landscape.
In supporting Coast Capital’s strong operating and risk culture, the incumbent will regularly communicate with operations, business and risk partners to formulate appropriate test & learn strategies and collaborate with campaign partners to optimize campaign modelling, delivery and measurement.What you’ll get to do:

  • Developing growth targets in alignment with the broader organizational growth targets/OKRs, contributing to business development with a heightened focus on new member growth and cross-product revenue generation, including but not limited to Net Interest Income (NII) and Non-Interest Revenue (NIR)
  • Develop and manage the payment initiatives roadmap, staying on top of changing and emerging payment methods. Roadmap management includes writing business cases, leading change management and collaborating with technology teams and external vendors.
  • Identifying and monitoring business trends, competitive intelligence, and emerging trends / best practices to determine implications of proposed payment solutions, daily banking enhancements, regulatory restrictions, and customer feedback to ensure strategies meet customer needs.
  • Maintaining a high level of communication with operations and supporting partners to resolve member payment escalations and meet service standards. Support appropriate reporting for performance, service and operational standards
  • Building internal relationships and a solid functional understanding of a variety of payment services in support of product management activities, which may include:
  • ATM/POS Channel management
  • Debit Card management
  • Interac e-Transfers
  • Cheque Clearing
  • Wires, Bill Payments, AFT, and Other Payments
  • Managing the chequing portfolio product shelf, including associated packages across Retail and Small Businesses. Responsible for executing, tracking and reporting on all portfolio KPIs while conducting test & learning strategies
  • Improving employee and client experiences across end-to-end journeys through process simplification and system enhancements
  • Executing campaigns, generating leadership-level reporting around campaign performance and enhancement opportunities
  • Reviewing/analyzing existing products’ performance to ensure performance meets expectations and assessing product demand/supply and other factors.
  • Connecting day-to-day banking products to appropriate organizational capabilities and journeys to seamlessly integrate clients day-to-day banking needs across the Coast ecosystem

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related areas. Post-graduate degree in relevant field a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in payments, chequing, and small business cash management within financial services
  • Deep knowledge of payment capabilities and payment initiative implementation
  • Strong understanding of day-to-day banking products (chequing, transaction banking, overdraft, etc.)
  • Advanced ability to identify and bring to ground market trends/innovation, strong relationship-building capabilities
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including insight development and executive-level performance reporting
  • Experience working in journey building, UX/UI design, and design-thinking, specifically in the area of onboarding
  • Strong proficiency in building strategic partner relationships, especially in payments/payment contract management
  • Well-organized, professional demeanour and ability to manage time, balancing the need to resolve issues quickly with effective and thorough analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous environment and to help simplify and create structure
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships
  • Innovative thinking, bringing passion, energy, creativity and vision
  • Ability to handle multiple initiatives with changing priorities
