OverviewAs the Senior Project Manager for Major Program Delivery, you will oversee and coordinate the performance, scope, and deliverables of a significant project stream or multiple streams. This includes managing both direct and indirect project staff, as well as consultants and vendor partners.As the Senior Project Manager, you will manage intricate cross-functional project plans that include integrated deliverables, timelines, and dependencies across different streams, along with associated risks. You will organize and lead the project stream in developing and executing project plans to ensure successful delivery within the expected timelines and desired quality outcomes throughout the various releases.Responsibilities

  • Create, execute and manage project stream plans, following Agile methodology, practices and ceremonies, based on direction and priorities established by the Operational Business Champion and stream leads.
  • Manage the stream schedule, milestones, deliverables and action items for projects.
  • Organize and oversee release of key deliverables for acceptor/approver.
  • Manage and coordinate activities to ensure tasks are executed according to the plan and objectives.
  • Understand the nature of work performed by stream and provide recommendations on best practices to plan and execute in order to meet expected timelines and quality deliverables.
  • Log, maintain and escalates RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions) on behalf of project stream using project software tool, Azure DevOps.
  • Proactively identify and manage interdependencies and constraints between streams to reduce delivery risk.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Commerce, or related discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, designation or equivalent.
  • Supplementary courses related to Project Management i.e. Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Risk Management, Program Management and Agile Project Management, are an asset.
  • Eight to ten years’ related experience, including five years managing medium to large projects and special initiatives. This includes high visibility projects that involve large scope and budgets, multiple system changes and multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with exceptional vendor management experience including:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent contract awareness
  • Excellent contract risk management such as contract milestone indemnity, terms, deliverables, etc.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills as the main liaison between vendors and MPI
  • 5+ years’ work experience on programs with large System Integrator vendors
