Role: Senior QA SpecialistLocation: Vancouver, CA (Remote)Type: ContractJob Duties:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the overall management plan to guarantee integrity and quality of work delivered.
The Quality Assurance Specialist should be able to do the following:
Responsible for both coordinating requests and assuring the quality of testing and documentation
Creates and maintains the procedures, templates, tools and manuals that guide the testing and documentation processes, including the Quality Assurance Specialist interaction with development teams
The Quality Assurance Specialist documentation provides guidance and assistance with the following:
Estimating quality assurance and documentation activities;
Test planning and scripting;
Types of testing (unit, boundary, field entry, system, functional, security, regression and end user);
Automated testing (such as load and stress testing, concurrent user testing);
Reporting bugs; and
Testing templates, examples, and checklists.
Required Skills:
5 years experience in quality management software and tools relevant to web applications.
Minimum 5 years experience in manual testing-creating and executing comprehensive manual test cases, including exploratory testing and detailed bug documentation.
5 years experience with software development processes and industry standards (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
Previous experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is an asset-but not required, as the role emphasizes manual testing.
Optional: Knowledge of tools such as Cypress Studio or RSPEC Rails testing frameworks is a bonus for context and collaboration with the development team.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Excellent analytical abilities to evaluate complex test cases, suites, and scripts.
Demonstrates outstanding complex problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to think outside the box.
Proven track record in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing effective quality solutions.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure all products and services meet stringent quality and compliance standards.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication skills to articulate quality requirements clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to train and guide team members on quality control measures.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with developers, product managers, and partners.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 to 7 years in quality assurance roles, including leadership experience in managing quality initiatives.
Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance and advanced quality management techniques in complex environments.
