Randstad Digital is seeking a dedicated Senior SAS administrator, for one of our major clients. This dynamic role offers the flexibility of being based in Montreal, Vancouver, or Toronto.As an IT Infrastructure Specialist focusing on SAS, you will be an integral part of our team, providing critical support to our existing SAS administrators. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the daily operational excellence of our Data & Analytics (D&A) SAS 9.4 ecosystem and its associated Business Intelligence (BI) tools. This encompasses managing connectors to platforms like Power BI and Snowflake, overseeing data processing pipelines, and coordinating tasks to ensure seamless support.
A significant aspect of this role involves proactively identifying, communicating, and mitigating technical risks and issues. You’ll be instrumental in evaluating various strategic options, weighing their feasibility and potential impact, and then proposing concrete action plans to optimize the performance and efficiency of our SAS 9.4 environment. A key part of this will involve close collaboration with our actuarial teams to review and refine their code for optimal execution.
You’ll also be a driving force in our continuous improvement initiatives, contributing innovative ideas, championing best practices, and enhancing processes across SAS and BI domains. Furthermore, you will ensure adherence to organizational and departmental change management protocols, particularly as they relate to our data warehousing infrastructure.Core Competencies & Proficiencies
Languages: Fluent in both English and French (written and spoken).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Key Qualifications:
Extensive experience in administering and supporting production and development SAS environments.
Demonstrated proficiency in SAS 9.4 development.
Proven track record in establishing and operationalizing SAS environments.
A profound grasp of SAS data integration workflows and methodologies.
A genuine curiosity and desire to understand complex system functionalities, regardless of their intricacy.
An understanding of distributed computing systems and concurrent processing is a definite asset.
Exceptional critical thinking abilities to navigate and resolve intricate technical challenges.
The agility to thrive and contribute effectively in a dynamic and evolving technological landscape.
Outstanding communication and collaborative skills.
