Job description
Senior Systems Administrator for a six month contract. This position will be responsible for providing operational support, maintenance, and security to the firm’s messaging, backup & recovery, cloud and on-premise environments. The incumbent will participate in day-to-day administration, projects, after-hours maintenance and deployment of new technologies.
- Be part of a geographically diverse team of Systems Administrators and reports to the Systems Administration Team Lead.
- Ensure availability, integrity and support for Active Directory, Cloud technologies, Exchange, Mimecast, virtual infrastructure, Veeam backups and storage.
- Provide technical oversight of third-party operational support delivery.
- Provide third-level escalation support, maintain and develop the IT infrastructure in production and non-production environments.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior / intermediate members of the System Administration Team and colleagues in the broader IT department.
- Analyze security vulnerabilities and determine appropriate remediation.
- Participate in national- and global-level projects; understand business needs and recommend technical solutions.
- Provide knowledge transfer to colleagues and support staff within the IT team and third-party partners providing operational support.
- Create and maintain systems documentation, standard operating procedures and disaster recovery procedures.
- Review IT department processes related to Active Directory, Backups, Cloud and Messaging, looking for opportunities for automation and streamlining.
- Conduct and manage compliance searches using eDiscovery, Content Search, and Compliance Center tools in Exchange Online.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize mail flow rules to ensure proper email delivery both internally and externally.
- Manage email routing and connectors, ensuring reliable communication with external clients and partners.
- Propose processes, workflows or strategies to improve IT infrastructure operation, administration and recovery.

- Minimum 7-10 years of experience with Windows Server administration
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience with on-premises Exchange administration
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience administering virtual infrastructure (VMWare, Hyper-visor)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience administering Cloud solutions (Azure, Office 365, MS Teams, etc.)
- Experience with Dell Servers/Blades, Azure Stack HCI platforms, Powershell scripting
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
- Team coordination with ability to leverage team member strengths, coach improvement on weaknesses, and coordinate efforts in support of large objectives
- Experience working in a disciplined change control environment
- Experience in the legal industry would be an asset
