As part of this commitment, we are embarking on an exciting digital transformation to implement a new, modernized Hospital Information System (HIS). Our dedicated HIS Team will collaborate closely with our trusted HIS Vendor (Epic) and internal subject matter experts to develop a fully functional system that will empower us to deliver exceptional care and services.The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, configuration, build, testing and support of the
hardware and infrastructure required to support the health information system (HIS). This role is part of the HIS project structure with a key responsibility to design, deliver and sustain our systems to address both clinical
and non-clinical needs, ensuring the HIS is utilized effectively and efficiently in patient care.Accountabilities:

  • Manage and administer physical and virtual server infrastructure
  • Maintain and monitor existing on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, diagnosing problems using system monitoring software and hardware
  • Design, build and maintain automation tools and scripts to optimize system management and simplify deployment workflows
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating and communicating with impacted constituencies
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of any assigned systems
  • Research new and current technologies to improve stability and functionality of existing systems
  • Manage assigned tasks and projects with the flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team and business objectives
  • Administer multiple data center facilities where systems may operate
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support
  • Work extended hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as required

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of either a university degree or college diploma in a computer science or equivalent discipline
  • Five years progressive related experience in systems design and implementation
  • Five years progressive related experience in Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware ESXi
  • Five years progressive related experience in Cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP)
  • Five years progressive related experience in Microsoft Windows Server and RedHat Linux environments
  • Five years progressive related experience in Microsoft Active Directory environments
  • Five years progressive related experience in implementing automation tools to streamline infrastructure deployment, scaling, and remediation using Terraform, Ansible and Chef
  • Hands-on experience with patch management and system updates in VMware, Nutanix, Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience with Shell scripting, Python, Ansible, Terraform and YAML packages
  • Experience with iSCSI, FCOE, and Fiber Channel zoning
  • Experience with Microsoft clustering and VMware HA/DRS
  • Must have working knowledge and experience with the VDI environment
  • Experience in deploying and administering applications; installing new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team to meet HIS project milestones and ensure successful project delivery
  • Ability and willingness to support project success in a manner that goes beyond the completion of assigned tasks
  • Ability to persevere in a high intensity project to overcome obstacles and difficult situations within a time sensitive implementation
