Job Overview

Join our client, a leading agricultural equipment company in Abbotsford. As a Service Technician/Electrician. You’ll install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, and automated farm systems while providing hands-on customer support. Ideal for someone who enjoys fieldwork, problem-solving, and continuous learning.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical agricultural equipment and control systems
  • Set up, diagnose, and repair agricultural computer hardware and software
  • Commission newly installed equipment and ensure systems are functioning properly
  • Complete scheduled service calls efficiently and keep clear communication with the Service Manager
  • Submit service orders and required documentation daily
  • Participate in the on-call rotation (evenings and weekends)
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, explaining work completed, and advising on maintenance
  • Continuously grow your skills by reading manuals and learning from teammates
  • Work safely in various environments including ladders, scissor lifts, confined spaces, and outdoor farm settings
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring:

  • Grade 12 diploma or GED
  • Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of safety procedures
  • 2, 3, and 4th year Electrical Apprentice or Red Seal Electrician
  • Experience with custom wiring, panel building, PLC wiring/programming (assets)
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Understanding of agricultural equipment, VFDs, and farm processes (asset)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in on-call rotations

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working from ladders and lifts, and in confined spaces
  • Periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and manual tasks
