The Lassonde School of Engineering at York University invites highly qualified applicants for two (2) Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream positions in Mechatronics Engineering. These are Contractually Limited Appointments (CLA) to the teaching stream for three-year terms to commence July 1, 2026.
The Lassonde School of Engineering’s https://lassonde.yorku.ca/ new Mechatronics Engineering program https://lassonde.yorku.ca/academics/mechatronics-engineering merges Space, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer and Software engineering and emphasizes an integrative approach with a focus on experiential education. We are seeking two applicants with teaching interests in Mechatronics Engineering, broadly defined. The successful candidates will be appointed to a home department best suited to their teaching (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science https://lassonde.yorku.ca/eecs/, Mechanical Engineering https://lassonde.yorku.ca/mech/ or Earth and Space Science and Engineering https://lassonde.yorku.ca/esse/) or a joint appointment across two units, and are expected to provide leadership in the ongoing development of the Mechatronics program at Lassonde.

Candidate Qualifications:
• Degree: PhD in Mechatronics, or a closely related field is required, either in hand or near completion by the appointment’s start.
• Teaching:
o A record or evident promise of excellence in teaching and dedication to students (e.g., teaching accomplishments, pedagogical innovations, official student and peer evaluations).
o Capable of teaching in both in-person and blended/remote settings.
• Additional: Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Professional Engineering (or Limited) license in Canada shortly after their appointment.
