Campus Location: New WestminsterClosing Date: Open Until FilledPosition SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable subject matter expert on Synthetic Media to join our team. This role will be integral to ensure our Advanced Police Training in-service offerings remain current and provide all courses that may be required by Law Enforcement Officers in BC. This role will focus on the development, and then instruction, of a 5-day synthetic media course that explores synthetic media and its relationship with Law Enforcement, including how synthetic media enable illegal activities, how front-line officers and staff respond to and investigate synthetic media, and how to provide victim care and safeguarding regarding synthetic media, with the inclusion of specific case studies throughout the course. The course will be developed with the aid of our instructional design team. This course will be held at our New Westminster Campus, and whilst frequency of the delivery will vary depending on need, initial estimations are twice a year.The ideal candidate will develop and deliver a comprehensive course on synthetic media, tailored to the needs of law enforcement personnel. They will ensure the course provides comprehensive instruction on the detection, analysis, and countermeasures for synthetic media threats, whilst also ensuring they foster a creative and inclusive learning environment. Utilizing real-world case studies to illustrate the impact of synthetic media on law enforcement and criminal investigations will be a key component of the course, and the instructor will be expected to stay current with the latest advancements in synthetic media technologies integrating advancements into the curriculum where applicable.Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Law Enforcement
  • In-depth understanding of synthetic media technologies and their implications for law enforcement
  • A commitment to staying current in all aspects of synthetic media
  • Experience in teaching or training in an academic or professional setting
  • Previous curriculum development work is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse training and development teams
