About the Role

Our client in North York is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Shunter to join their yard/warehouse operations team. As the Shunter, you will be responsible for moving trailers/trucks within the yard, assisting with loading/unloading logistics, coordinating with dispatch and warehouse staff, and ensuring all movements are done safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate yard trucks/trailers to reposition equipment safely within the facility
• Assist with loading/unloading, securing equipment and preparing vehicles for dispatch
• Perform yard vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues
• Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse and site staff to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain accurate records/logs for yard movements and equipment usage
• Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures and standards

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario AZ driver’s licence with clean abstract
• Prior experience in a yard or shunting role, preferably in logistics, transport or warehouse environment
• Comfortable operating yard vehicles/trailers and working around trucks and heavy equipment
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with different stakeholders
• Strong attention to safety, punctuality and reliability
