Your role

As Specialist, Marketing & Communications, Community Experiences & Partnerships, you will develop strategies for events, experiences and partnerships that position the Radio-Canada brand, maximize its reach and strengthen its presence in the community while deepening Canadians’ connection with the public broadcaster.

More specifically, you will:

  • Recommend, conceptualize, plan and operationalize the creation and production of brand activations, original event-based experiences and strategic partnerships across Ontario or Ottawa-Gatineau, with the goal of generating interest and engagement among audiences for the public broadcaster, its properties and products.

  • Onboard, train and coach the Ontario and Ottawa-Gatineau brand ambassador team.

  • Lead, develop and roll out Canada-wide events and initiatives that help strengthen the connection with Canadians across the country, working in conjunction with the Community Experiences & Partnerships teams at each regional station.

  • Help develop experiential and relationship marketing strategies that enhance the brand’s reach and engagement with the general public.

  • Play a strategic advisory role with program managers and associated partners vis-à-vis our brand positioning.

  • Supervise, roll out and co-ordinate marketing communications plans to ensure optimal exposure for initiatives, and draft the associated strategic and creative briefs in conjunction with all Marketing & Communications teams involved.

  • Help plan the event calendar, oversee production timelines, co-ordinate all logistical steps, do technical and location scouting, and manage budgets.

  • Handle media and public relations for Ontario and Ottawa-Gatineau.

  • Develop and negotiate agreements with suppliers and participating contributors.

  • Act as liaison with all parties involved in the various projects.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Qualifications:

  • University degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a relevant field of study

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in similar positions

Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada, its mandate and its programming

  • Proven ability to plan and organize projects

  • Strategic, political thinker

  • High degree of creativity in working with content, developing traditional and electronic communications tools as well as designing promotional events and activities

  • Proven experience in communications consulting, negotiation and brand activation

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Budgeting and scheduling skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and handle stress

  • Availability to work on a sometimes irregular schedule and/or long shifts

  • Creative, solutions-oriented team player with the ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision and meet deadlines that may be tight at times

  • Excellent command of spoken and written French

  • Advance oral, writing and reading proficiency in English (CCC)

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence

  • Ability to travel when needed
