Sr. Business Analyst We have engaged with a thriving Canadian Fintech employer, to help assist with the search for a Sr. BA for their growing team. We’re looking for someone that will have in-depth knowledge of finance and IT and use this knowledge to play an integral role in the development and implementation of high priority initiatives.The BA play an integral role on their work teams, from the initial planning and story writing for Scrum sprints to the testing of the delivered solutions to ensure they satisfy the business needs. A technical leader ready and willing to jump in and help the team across a wide range of functions such as ensuring the user stories follow the INVEST method, running some SQL queries to obtain data sets or executing tests based on the story acceptance criteria.What you’ll be working on

  • Communicating with business leadership to ensure proper capture of Business Requirements
  • Ensuring solutions delivered meet stakeholder objectives with manual validation techniques
  • Using the Product Delivery Framework, our internal best practices in the delivery of solutions
  • Providing gap analysis and making recommendations to stakeholders on potential solutions to address business
  • Coaching new members of the team on the Product Delivery Framework
  • Leading Scrum Ceremonies and the delivery of smaller initiatives as required

What you’ll need to have

  • Finance business processes acumen
  • Accounting, General Ledger and Payments
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at senior levels. Actively mentors and helps train more junior members.
  • University degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years experience in Business Analyst role in insurance/financial services
  • 2+ Years experience working in Scrum based teams and creation of User Stories, or equivalent training
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or project
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member as required
  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast paced, changing environment
