We are offering a 6 month contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Cost Accountant in Aurora, Ontario. This is 2 days onsite. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities within the manufacturing industry, including day-to-day accounting tasks and understanding the completion percentage of projects.Responsibilities:

• Oversee the process of balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and integrity of data

• Handle the day-to-day accounting activities and ensure compliance with IFRS Accounting standards

• Analyze and maintain records of Work In Progress (WIP) to track production costs

• Determine the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) to evaluate product profitability

• Understand and manage the percentage of project completion to effectively control project costs

• Execute reconciliation activities to ensure the accuracy of financial data.

• Position: Sr. Cost Accountant

• A minimum of 7 years of detail-oriented experience in a Cost Accounting role or similar

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Knowledge and experience in IFRS Accounting

• Expertise in handling Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)

• Experience in managing Work In Progress (WIP) accounting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Familiarity with accounting software and databases such as D365

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
