The Faculty of Business & Information Technology at Ontario Tech University (University of Ontario Institute of Technology) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the field of Sustainable Supply Chain Management. This position would start on July 1, 2025, or as soon as it is filled, subject to budgetary approval.
Applicants should hold a PhD, or be near completion of their doctorate, with a specialization in Operations Management, Management Science, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach and develop courses in sustainable operations and supply chain management and conduct research in this area.
The successful candidate must present evidence of the following:
a strong academic background;
strong track record or potential in innovative and scholarly research leading to top-ranked peer-assessed publications; and
strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to:
attract tri-council funding and train HQP
engage in leading-edge research with colleagues and students; and
promote their research externally and build relationships with relevant industry and/or academic partners.
The successful candidate will pursue research in a wide range of areas within operations and supply chain management, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in both theoretical and applied domains. Potential research fields include, but are not limited to, supply chain sustainability, environmental transparency of operations and supply chains, corporate social responsibility, sustainable supply chain risk management. impact of emerging technologies on sustainable supply chains and operations, climate-resilient supply chains.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach or develop undergraduate and graduate courses in the specific field of sustainable supply chain as well as the broader filed of operations and supply chain management. These courses may include, but are not limited to, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Business Sustainability, Ethical and Social Responsibility in Supply Chains, Special Topics in Sustainable Supply Chain, Introduction to Operations Management, Risk Management Frameworks, Supply Chain Management, Global Operations and Supply Chain, Logistics and Transportation Management, and Purchasing and Inventory Management. The Faculty is looking for candidates that are interested in developing new courses within these areas to further expand our course offerings.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct active and innovative research programs and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ontario Tech is a technology-enhanced learning environment and the candidate shall be expected to have skills in the integration of technology into teaching and to model those skills in their own teaching in the University’s web-centric and mobile learning environment. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Business and Information Technology or be near completion of their doctorate ; a strong academic background; and an established record of excellence in innovative and scholarly research leading to peer assessed publications. Candidates must also demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions. In addition, candidates should possess excellent English language skills demonstrating an ability to ensure strong, two-way communications on an ongoing basis that contribute to collaborative/collegial relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.
The successful candidate will be expected to follow a 40% Research, 40% Teaching and 20% Service workload each year.
This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the UOIT Faculty Association and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and the UOIT Faculty Association collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and annual salary increases are administered as per the terms outlined in the collective agreement.
