Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Strategic Research Engineer.About the team:The Technology Planning and Cooperation Department promotes strategic innovation across all of Huawei Canada. Working with fellow experts, the focus is researching new and upcoming areas of technology as well as strategic planning to help achieve long term vision of Huawei. This department offers a unique opportunity to leverage both technical and business skills.About the job:Analyze breakthrough technologies trends and present to higher-ups and mentors.Recommend and link academic professors and key person of IEEE/ACM associations with internal experts.Procurement/project management assistance, assisting with the organization of academic workshop.About the ideal candidate:Has a passion for ICT industry and an investigative mindset. Actively reach out breakthrough or promising technologies from North America’s top universities.Regularly produce analysis reports.PhD from in CS or EE schools, or have strong computer science, wireless communication, hardware or optical engineering background is an asset.Strong presentation skills
