Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).This position is part of a SSHRC-funded Partnership Grant to address sexual violence on university campuses across Canada and internationally under the supervision of Professor Shaheen Shariff.Qualifications Required (skills and abilities, education, language skills):The applicant should have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in any of the following fields:Communication or Media StudiesGender/Feminist StudiesSociologyAnthropologyRequired skills:At least 5 years of research experience at a university or post-secondary institutionConducting research on rape culture and sexual violence in universities in CanadaWorking with the Project Director to collect and analyze survey dataWorking with the Project Director to conduct focus groups and interviews with key respondentsWorking closely with the Project Leads and Partners in “Project B: Role of Arts and Popular Culture” to collect data, conduct workshops, write research articles, and contribute to other tasks related to the projectPublishing research articles and presenting research at academic conferencesKnowledge of qualitative methods and qualitative analysisAble to work collaboratively with a team of peers and high-profile academics and partnersAdditional qualifying skills and abilities:Experience with quantitative methods and quantitative analysisKnowledge of Lime Survey, SPSS, NVIVO, and other similar software Pedagogical experience, such as developing educational materials, teaching university-level courses, facilitating workshops, and mentoring students Knowledge mobilization experience, such as conference presentations, op-eds, media interviews, community-based programs, etc.Experience working in educational settings and community organizations Experience editing and publishing non-academic reportsAdvocacy work, especially related to supporting victims/survivors of sexual violenceFamiliarity with Canadian law and policy (and university sexual violence policies), an assetFluency in French, an assetHourly Salary: $23.00Hours per Week: 10 (Part time)Location: Education BuildingSupervisor: ProfessorPosition Start Date: 2025-01-01Position End Date: 2025-04-30Deadline to Apply: 2025-03-17This position is covered by the Association of McGill University Research Employees (AMURE) collective agreement.McGill University hires on the basis of merit and is strongly committed to equity and diversity within its community.
