Location: Viola Desmond Centre, 50 Secord Dr, Hamilton, ON L8K 3W7
Total Weekly Hours: 15
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 10:00AM
Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): $22.93 per hour

Who We’re Looking For
-
Education: A Secondary School diploma (or equivalent) is required. A Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a strong asset.

Experience: At least 1 year of experience working directly with children, preferably in a childcare setting with children up to 12 years of age.
Certifications Required
-
Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
-
Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
-
Proof of up-to-date immunization for TB, Tetanus, and MMR
-
Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
Skills & Characteristics

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Knowledge of “How Does Learning Happen?” is an asset
-
Commitment to confidentiality, flexibility, and minimal supervision

Key Responsibilities:
-
Collaborating with staff to deliver age-appropriate programs that foster cognitive, physical, social, cultural, and emotional development.
-
Supervising children and ensuring a safe environment by proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards.

Applying consistent behaviour guidance in line with UFCC’s Child Care Centre Program Policy.
-
Assisting with daily tasks such as organizing food carts, disinfecting tables, sweeping floors, and managing laundry as needed.
