The Department of Applied Human Nutrition is seeking candidates with expertise in nutrition or related areas for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level commencing July 1, 2025. Applicants should hold a PhD in human nutrition or a related discipline, or be close to completion, and have identified a future research program that will complement the Department’s research portfolio. Research areas might be related, but not limited to: food and nutrition in older adults; Indigenous food systems; ethical and sustainable food practices; population/public health; and, digital health and technology. The successful applicant will be required to teach on campus.

Workload for the position includes research, teaching, as well as collegial service to the department, university and external communities.

The successful candidate should have expertise, or relevant experience, to teach in the areas of food provisioning, food service, entrepreneurial leadership, food systems, older adults, and other areas identified by the Department.

Membership, or eligibility for membership, in Dietitians of Canada and the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists, are required.

Applicants should include a statement of research and teaching interests, as well as a description of how their unique experience/expertise can intersect with, or enhance, the Department’s programs. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Agreement with the Faculty Association. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
