Our client in the aviation fuel industry is seeking a Terminal & Control Center Operator to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will be part of a crucial team responsible for the safe operations of pipeline and terminal facilities ensuring fuel delivery to airline clients. The ideal candidate will have a calm demeanor, troubleshooting abilities, and excellent communication skills.Job Title: Terminal & Control Center Operator
Location: Richmond, B.C.
Pay Range: $80k to $100k per year (depending on experience level)What’s the Job?

  • Operational control and real-time monitoring of pipeline and terminal facilities via a SCADA control system
  • Utilizing leak detection system to monitor segment integrities and respond appropriately to violations.
  • Day to day site activities including, performing site rounds, minor maintenance activities, equipment checks and housekeeping
  • Review product quality information and perform basic sampling and lab tests as required ensuring ongoing delivery of quality jet fuel
  • Maintain a log of pertinent shift information and effectively hand-off to counterparts at shift change
  • Be the first point of contact to site visitors and contractor, providing site and safety orientations. Where applicable complete work permits, and job hazard assessments.
  • Triage incoming calls from internal and external stakeholders
  • Work closely with management, supervisory and maintenance staff to address any potential operational issues
  • Promptly dispatch appropriate responses to alarms, call-in inquiries and emergency incidents
  • Maintain appropriate safety and operational qualifications through ongoing training
  • Ensure your ongoing abilities to respond in case of an emergency, through active participation in periodic training exercises
  • Deliver on the operational aspects of the Emergency Management Program, including participation in emergency response planning and exercises.
  • Support our ongoing goal of operational excellence, by supporting periodic operational document reviews, updates and enhancements
  • As this is a growing operation, duties and responsibilities of this position are subject to change as deemed necessary by the supervisor

  • 5 years of relevant experience in an operations, manufacturing or production environment
  • High school diploma, general education diploma or equivalent. Trades and technologist accreditations are considered a plus
  • Prior experience with remote operations an asset
  • Ability to work a rotating Dupont 24×7 shift schedule that will include nights, weekends and holidays
  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position, and therefore the successful incumbent must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol screening and background checks.
