EXTERNAL TEMPORARY CONTRACT(Funded through a grant provided by MTCU/ONCAT)JOB TITLE:Transfer Credit Assistant – Job Reference #202412-12CDESCRIPTION:As part of the Enrolment Services team, this position is intended to serve a brief but intense period during admissions by providing recruitment and admissions support primarily for transfer students from Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT). The position will be responsible to assist with a number of initiatives in Enrolment Services with particular focus on the following tasks:– Attending CAAT recruitment fairs and assisting with applicant conversion activities– Maintaining and updating the existing internal database for college transfer credit and pathway programs– Liaising with academic departments at King’s to co-ordinate and collect course descriptions and course equivalency assessments for inclusion in transfer database– Meet and interview existing King’s students admitted from a CAAT to determine diversity in college programs allowing the Office of Enrollment Services to create a range of student profiles to be used for recruitment at college fairs and for inclusion in publications and on the King’s website– Pre-assessing CAAT applicants to help facilitate the applicant’s meetings with an Admissions Officer as well as helping to understand the offer of admission once received and moving the applicant through next steps.– Researching program information (including curriculum and course descriptions) to assist in the determination of potential transfer credit agreement with College partners.– Under the direction of the Manager of Admissions & Recruitment, liaising and collaborating with Western’s Transfer Credit Specialist to facilitate the development and approval of transfer credit and articulation agreements.QUALIFICATIONS:The successful candidate will have:– A minimum of a B.A. in a discipline offered at King’s University College, preferably a King’s graduate.– Knowledge of the Ontario secondary and post-secondary system.– Outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.– Strong research and decision-making skills and careful attention to detail.TYPE OF JOB:Contract position – 11 weeks (40 hours per week)EFFECTIVE DATE:January 15, 2024 – March 29, 2024SALARY:$32.07/hour (SSG40-7, Level 4)APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:Submit a letter of application and resume.
