Start Date:  December 2025

Annual Salary: $57,940 - $60,000

Reports To: Manager, Language Programs 

Hours: Full-time (35hrs/week) 

Location: NYCH locations/remote work

Position Summary

The TRC Partnership Coordinator will partner with staff to design group sessions to educate and build awareness among newcomers to Canada around Indigenous peoples’ history, culture, and the barriers facing Indigenous communities. This position will also train a group of NYCH staff to integrate this learning into their current programs. Additionally, the TRC Partnership Coordinator will work with NYCH’s TRC Coordinator to establish an annual TRC Day event in collaboration with settlement and Indigenous organizations.

Main responsibilities include:

• Work with NYCH teams to assess levels of understanding among newcomer clients around Indigenous history and determine the most effective approaches for different programs.
• Design a series of information sessions to engage newcomers in learning about Indigenous history, culture, and issues facing Indigenous individuals and communities, tailored to different backgrounds and levels of English fluency.
• Engage newcomers internally for NYCH’s TRC events/workshops to create mutual learning around Indigenous and newcomer experiences.
• Work collaboratively with all NYCH program teams to ensure that all trainings and capacity building opportunities are participatory, engaging and high quality
• Work with a group of NYCH staff to build their capacity around delivering sessions in different programs
• Develop, collect, analyze and share evaluation data and other relevant research to ensure continuous quality improvement of session design and delivery
• Provide input to NYCH’s TRC committee around ways to best engage and involve staff in supporting this project
• Share content around project progress, milestones, events, etc. with Communications Manager for promotion on social media
• Maintain updated, accurate and secure client files and data in OCMS
• Prepare reports and budgets, and support development of funding proposals (e.g. providing research/evaluation data program descriptions, etc.) as required
• Attend cross-organization and team meetings, and staff development sessions to share and receive updates, best practices, and other information.
• Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• Minimum level of education preferred is a community college diploma/degree in Indigenous studies, social services, adult education or related field or a combination of education and lived experience.
• Candidates who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) are required for this position, as it brings unique insights, forged through their cultural, spiritual, and historical experiences.
  Experience in creating and designing training sessions for a wide range of audiences, workshop delivery
• Experience with program design and/or development

• Passion for leading this work and a deep understanding of Indigenous history and culture;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, respectful, inclusive manner, experience working with diverse communities and an understanding of power and privilege within an Anti-Racism Anti-Oppression framework
• Demonstrated expertise in facilitation using a variety of tools and approaches and proven ability to develop and deliver training
• Proven ability to create, build and maintain positive relationships with community members and residents as well as engage and create enthusiasm about learning with staff and community members
• Strong written and verbal communications skills including the ability to communicate in a clear, concise and accurate manner for reports, plans and presentations to diverse stakeholder groups; able to effectively convey complex issues and support open discussion
• Effective time management skills including the ability to plan, prioritize and organize tasks; juggle multiple responsibilities; attention to detail and ensure deadlines are met
• Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work and engage people from diverse backgrounds and experiences, levels of ability and education, and language groups
• Strong technology/online communication skills, including MS Office, online platforms and social media

Other Requirements: 

• Typically works regular hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional evening/weekend work. This work will be hybrid, with 2-3 days in person work.
• A successful clearance of criminal record verification will be required when necessary for the position.
