Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Turnaround Cost Controller to join one of Calgary’s largest oil and gas companies. This role will support the Capital Maintenance team in managing and controlling costs during project turnarounds. Travel between Medicine Hat and Sarnia will be required during turnaround phases, with expenses covered.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, costs, forecasts, and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

  • Perform data entry and validation in financial systems (Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Excel).

  • Review LEMs/Daily Field Reports

  • Collaborate closely with the project scheduler, ensuring correct budget alignment with project schedules.

  • Analyze and report cost performance, identifying cost variances during project execution.

  • Evaluate actuals and make recommendations for forecasts.

  • Track AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure) and get approvals as needed.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure alignment with project goals.

  • Produce and review project control deliverables, status reports, and analyses.

  • Communicate project risks with stakeholders.

  • Conduct risk assessments to qualify and mitigate potential risks to project costs.

Skills and Requirements

  • 10 years of progressive cost control experience.

  • Educational background in business, finance, or accounting.

  • Experience with maintenance/turnaround projects.

  • Proficiency with Oracle, MS Dynamics AX, and Excel.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience in major projects. – Experience in the oil and gas industry. null
