The University is at a key stage in its institutional transformation, with the implementation of its Academic and Strategic Plan and guiding principles—driving positive impact, decolonization, indigenization, and equity, environmental sustainability, emerging as a vibrant hub, student-centered approaches, innovation in learning, teaching, and research, and financial stewardship.Project Details:The Research Assistant will contribute to a national study on educational experiences in women’s, gender, and sexuality programs in Canada and work under a national team of faculty, under direct supervision of their institutional faculty supervisor, Michelle Miller, and the project’s Principal Investigator, Natalie Kouri-Towe, Concordia University.The position will contribute to the development of the project’s national database of women’s, gender, and sexuality programs in Canada, compiling and editing resources on gender and sexuality pedagogies, help with participant recruitment, transcription, and other research tasks.Responsibilities:
- Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Michelle Miller, in support of the project’s research goals and objectives
- Assisting with data collection, literature searches, data compilation, processing, entry and analysis
- Assisting with the preparation of proposals, progress and final reports
- Assisting with project coordination and administration of research activities
- Support creative and design aspects of the project.
- Ensure clarity, cohesion, and a high standard of technical execution.
- Participating in the provision of safe and secure environment for all members of the University community and its facilities
Qualifications:
- Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree or current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate program and/or equivalent training and professional experience
- Knowledge of the fields of gender-based violence scholarship and/or transformative justice is preferable
- Demonstrated familiarity with feminist, gender, sexuality, and queer scholarship
- Strong organizational, and written communications and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity and experience promoting a respectful work and learning environment for students, staff and faculty
- Previous experience with interview transcription is an asset but not required.
Hours of Work: Part-time starting October 20, 2024.Work Environment: The incumbent in this role will be expected to report to work on campus and virtuallyCompensation: $21.32 (Undergraduate Rate) per hour with an additional 4% in lieu of vacation and 6% in lieu of benefitsPlease note the following:
