Located in Richmond Hill, ON
Salary: $60-$80k
Currently seeking Underwriters for a Mortgage Brokerage company in Richmond Hll, ON. They specialize in Mortgages, refinancing, debt consolidation, home equity, etc.
Duties:
- Underwrite A/B/Private deals and resolve challenging scenarios
- Work with internal agents, clients, lenders, and lawyers to satisfy all outstanding conditions
- Complete and review application paperwork for accuracy
- Analyze credit history and financial information to assess eligibility to clients
- Answer inquiries and questions from customers, lenders, and brokers
- Escalate any applications that require managerial approval
- Establish credit terms, pricing, and conditions
- Create business relationships with brokers/customers
- Communicate and sell to clients
- Generate leads
- Ensure all documents are compliant with FSCO guildlines
- Pre-screen prospective mortgage deals, including scrutiny of appraisal reports
- Deal with mortgage renewals, 2nd mortgages etc.
- Order appraisals and correspond the appraisers
- Analyze loan risk and request any additional information as necessary
- Prepare reports on findings
- Other duties required by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Must have 3 years of experience with an Alt-A or B lender as a Mortgage Underwriter or Mortgage Officer
- Private mortgage or lending experience is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn a proven sales method and follow directions, memorize scripts etc.
- Organized and able to prioritize
- Detail oriented with strong data analysis skills
- Knowledge of mortgage loan processes, refinancing, and home equity
- Selling is trainable, must be friendly, able to work in a team environment
- Experience using Filogix would be an asset
