The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics or Economics with demonstrated expertise in Agribusiness and International Trade topics. We expect the chosen candidate will have conducted research in the area of agricultural trade and policy. In addition, the candidate will contribute to the undergraduate agribusiness program by teaching AREC 356: Economics of International Agribusiness https://catalogue.usask.ca/AREC-356, as well as within our graduate program in agricultural economics. Evidence of being a high quality post-secondary teacher-scholar and demonstrated ability to operate as a team player in a collegial environment is also desirable.
Along with high quality research, the appointee will typically deliver up to three courses per year at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Teaching expectations will be determined at the time of appointment. The appointee will provide leadership and mentorship to both graduate and undergraduate students and is also expected to engage with relevant agricultural industry stakeholders.
Salary bands for this position for the 2026 – 2027 academic year are as follows: Assistant Professor: $113,527 to $135,535; Associate Professor: $135,535 to $157,543; Full Professor: $157,543 to $183,219. Additional research support for the Professorship is included to assist the appointee in developing and continuing a productive research program.
