The Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal is a provincial Crown corporation of the Government of Québec whose mission is to operate a performing arts presenting organization and to manage Place des Arts in Montréal, the Amphithéâtre Fernand-Lindsay in Joliette, as well as to program artistic events at the Maison symphonique for all organizations excluding those presented by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.Société de la Place des Arts manages the largest performing arts complex in Canada and is currently seeking to add a Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Corporate Secretary to its team as part of its succession planning strategy.Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for all legal matters affecting the organization. You will act as legal advisor, identifying and mitigating legal risks, and will serve as a key point of contact for senior management, the Board of Directors, and various business units. You will oversee and support public procurement processes, ensuring their integrity and compliance with applicable regulations, advise the procurement team in contract management, and play an active role in negotiating complex commercial agreements and partnerships. You will ensure compliance with laws and regulations applicable to Crown corporations and oversee the organization’s adherence to sound governance practices. You will also serve as Secretary to the Board of Directors, facilitating the preparation, organization, and follow-up of board and committee meetings. In addition, you will supervise document and records management activities in accordance with government standards.Do you have at least 10 years of experience in business law and are you a member of the Quebec Bar? If so, we want to hear from you! Additional experience in construction law, real estate law, corporate secretarial duties, or working with Crown corporations will be considered a significant asset.
