How You Will Contribute:
- Provide debug support at the PCBA level, optical level, and fully assembled modules.
- Deliver status reports and tracking updates on active product builds.
- Collaborate with the NPI process team to enhance design for production.
- Conduct testing across various products as required.
- Manage kit sorting, verification, and maintain work-in-progress (WIP) schedules by identifying challenges or roadblocks.
- Prepare daily reports on product build status, including progress of WIP, test results, and failure repair updates.
- Organize and close builds, ensuring proper disposition of remaining materials.
- Sort incoming shipments from Sanmina and distribute to appropriate receivers.
- Track and resolve failure analyses, interfacing with Sanmina contract workers and R&D design teams.
- Oversee small product builds or incoming repair projects from initiation to completion.
The Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering, or a 3-year diploma as an Engineering Technologist.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of debug engineering experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills combined with troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturers globally to complete NPI tasks.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with optical fiber fusion splicing.
- Familiarity with Agile and Oracle systems.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members effectively.
Pay Range:
The salary range for this role is $73, 200 – $116, 900
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
