How You Will Contribute:

• Provide advanced debug support at the PCBA level, optical level, and fully assembled modules to ensure product quality and functionality.
• Deliver status reports and tracking updates on product progress and activities.
• Collaborate with the NPI process team to suggest improvements for production design.
• Conduct testing across various products as required, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Organize and verify kits, maintaining accurate inventory and efficient workflows.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), identifying and addressing challenges to maintain schedules.
• Generate daily reports detailing product build status, test outcomes, and repair progress.
• Manage build closures, including material disposition and documentation.

The Must Haves:

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in optical or electronic product testing, debugging, and assembly.
• Proficiency in PCBA-level and optical-level troubleshooting.
• Strong organizational skills for product tracking and reporting.
• Expertise in spreadsheet tools for updates and tracking.
• Familiarity with NPI processes and production workflows.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with contract workers and R&D teams.
• Ability to manage and supervise small builds or repair projects independently.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Wavelogic Optical Modems (WL6e) or similar optical transport products.
• Knowledge of Failure Analysis and tracking through Jira or similar tools.
• Familiarity with Sanmina workflows and incoming shipment management.
• Background in working with subcontractors and coordinating tasks effectively.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment maintenance and organization.
• Previous exposure to alpha, beta, and preproduction builds in an R&D environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills for identifying and overcoming roadblocks in WIP.

Pay Range:

The salary range for this role is $73, 200 – $116, 900

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
