Job description
SCADA Consultant (AVEVA Wonderware) – 6-Month ContractWe are seeking an experienced AVEVA Wonderware SCADA Consultant for a six-month contract to support customers’ SCADA systems and resolve complex technical challenges. This role involves SCADA administration and application development, requiring expertise in both InTouch and System Platform, as well as experience with oil and gas field devices such as ABB Totalflows and Emerson ROCs. The ideal candidate is also familiar with oil and gas equipment (e.g., tank batteries, saltwater disposal systems) and polling engines like Kepware and AUTOSOL Communication Manager (ACM).Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain SCADA systems.
- Integrate various field devices with SCADA platforms.
- Develop and modify relational databases.
- Create custom software and scripts to enhance SCADA functionality.
- Collaborate with customers and end users to identify and implement solutions.
- Develop Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for SCADA applications.
- Design, implement, and execute test plans.
- Gather requirements and develop related technical solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of hands-on AVEVA Wonderware System Platform SCADA experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot scripts within the SCADA environment.
- Familiarity with oil and gas field devices and equipment.
- Experience with polling engines for connecting field devices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent organization, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience with SQL databases (MySQL, MS SQL, etc.) and relational database design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows OS and Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of network security and communication protocols.
- Ability to travel, as required.
